It’s always so much fun to photograph engagement sessions. We love travelling to different cities with such a variety of places that work as brilliant backdrops. Whilst we’d photographed weddings in Manchester before, this was our first engagement session there! We were very excited that Farie + Melissa suggested we meet there for their pre-wedding engagement session. We had a fantastic day together and had the additional pleasure of photographing their wedding too. #throwback
How time flies. It feels like just yesterday when we had the honour of photographing Kudzi & CJ’s wedding. Now they’re celebrating 5 years together and how awesome that they have a lovely son to celebrate with them. The weather was kind to us and although we had pockets of rain it didn't spoil the day at all. Here’s wishing Kudzi & CJ a lifetime of happiness together and thank you for being so much fun to work with.
In every wedding, there is inevitably a greater emphasis on the bride. We absolutely love wedding photography and our favourite part of the day tends to be the getting ready moments. In this blog, the groom takes centre stage. We are looking forward to the year ahead.
A pre-wedding shoot is a fantastic opportunity for a couple to get used to being in front of the camera but these two didn't need any help with that. Richard and Mtinawa were naturals in front of the camera and their chemistry was undoubtable. The Severn Valley Railway station in Bridgnorth provided a beautiful vintage backdrop whilst Birmingham's Mailbox was as expectedly stylish and chic. 20 days and counting, we can't wait to photograph their wedding.
This was a ridiculously beautiful wedding in our nations capital, in Zimbabwe. The ceremony was at Chisipite High. The chapel had an enthralling sense of character and timeless beauty, matched only by the bride on this her very special day. The reception at Wild Geese was the stuff made of dreams. The décor, soft feminine touches combined with a selection of hippy triumphs - the LOVE in the air theme, the desert succulents and smidgens of sparkle, oh! so beautiful. And in this truly African setting the couple danced the night away making unforgettable memories...
I'll slide silently away from the madding crowd,
When I see that wild specter of colour exploding into the night sky,
I'll chase solitary pathways, through the African savannah,
With only this one thing on my mind,
that you come too…
Congratulations Farai and Lindi and all the best in the years to come. Illustrations Photography.
We first got together with Lesly and Miriam in London for their pre-wedding shoot a few months ago. They're a great couple and it was such a pleasure capturing their special day. The whole day seemed to have whizzed by, with joy, laughter and plenty of smiles. Wishing them well on a beautiful lifetime journey together.
As I was compiling this blog post I was reminded of the old adage that lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice… once you take a look at these images you will agree that it can and just has. This was a fresh and elegant affair. Brian looked suave! Violet had the most perfect wave in her hair and a dress that would have graced the catwalks of Milan - so very beautiful. The church service was magical, the signing heavenly. The reception was at Pabani Lodge and having photographed at this location numerous times before, the challenge was always to make the images unique to the couple – I think this was achieved by the bucket loads. Friends and family were lavished way into the night to live music from “Suluman Chimbetu” – truly the serving of the best wine last.
Brian and Violet, Congrats!! from Illustrations Photography.
We are absolutely thrilled to be sharing this summer inspired wedding of Sandra and Kevin with you. It is full of smiles, sunshine and even more smiles. Once you’ve had a look at the images you’ll soon agree that they share so much heart and warmth, look even closer and you’ll start to wish you were there. Sandra's wedding dresses were absolutely gorgeous to say the least, Kevin was looking extra sharp in his tuxedo. We are in love with their choice of flowers, in shades of pink, yellow and coral, they really are to-die-for…but wait until you see the bridesmaids dresses, elegant in sunshine yellow with a two tone blend. It is truly epic.
Congratulations Sandra and Kevin!
